Opening The Windows Of Heaven!

Okay, so you have read through the other articles and you want to help support native missions to the unreached in the 10/40 window, but you don't think you can afford it right now. Then the question is not can you afford to give, but can you afford NOT to give? Jesus made us a promise in Luke 6:38, He said, "give and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall men give unto you. For with the measure you use it shall be measured back to you." The apostle Paul wrote, "But this I say, he which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully...He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth forever. Now He that ministereth seed to the sower BOTH minister BREAD FOR YOUR FOOD AND MULTIPLY YOUR SEED SOWN, AND INCREASE THE FRUITS OF YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS;" (2 Coninthians 9:6,9-10)

What a beautiful promise to those who have a heart to give! Giving not only opens the windows of Heaven for God to bless us in the natural realm, but ALSO in the spiritual realm! The Word says that he who has given to the poor, his righteousness shall remain forever! Proverbs 19:17 also says that he who gives to the poor LENDS TO THE LORD, and He will repay! Now our God is the God of multiplication. He is the One who created the laws that govern our world. Have you ever noticed that a grain of corn does not just produce ONE ear of corn after it has been sowed into the ground, but MANY ears of corn? Even through nature God is sending us a message about reaping from what we sow. Your "little" may not seem like much to you, but once it leaves your hands it begins to multiply! And we see from what the apostle Paul wrote that God gives us an increase on our seed sown so that our needs are not only fully met, but so that we may be able to give MORE and so that we ourselves become more fruitful (the fruit of the Spirit) in righteousness. Jesus taught that where your treasure is, there will your heart be as also. I don't know about the rest of you, but I want the heathen for my inheritance and the wealth of righteousness rather than the riches of man. If we want an unspoiled inheritance where no corruption can bring decay and no thief can break in and steal, we need to store up our treasures in Heaven! Let us not be like Esau, whose god was his belly, and who cared not for the spiritual inheritance which was rightfully his. Let us realize that in spending our resources on gratifying the lusts of the flesh,(what ever makes us FEEL good) the lusts of the eyes, (what ever makes us LOOK good) and the pride of life(what ever makes us think we ARE good, apart from God) we are not only serving idols but we are also selling our spiritual birthright for a mere pot of stew!

If we want to rise above the mediocre life of existing in this world on a day to day basis and truly find the abundant life Jesus promised, we must learn to soar as the eagle above the storms. As we make a commitment to give, and give sacrificially, there will be many times we are tempted to break our commitment. You can bank on it, because not only does the devil not want you to give and learn the key to getting your needs met, but God also wants to give you opportunities to stretch your faith and prove your faithfulness. We here in the west have been abundantly blessed by God. Even the poorest person in America would be considered above the poverty level in many third world countries. No one can afford NOT to give, for giving is the key to receiving from God. It is the only time in the Bible we are ever told to "prove God" or "put Him to the test". (Malachi 3:10-12). Selah!
